The Good Intern Programme is based on the premise that if pre-intern medical officers commence their internship with a sound understanding of what is expected of them and an awareness of Good Medical Practice then it will not only improve the quality of service they are able to provide within the health sector but also enhance their personal development and increase their level of satisfaction. The programme therefore aims to provide pre-interns and interns with the information they need and present the expectations and requirements of the year of internship from the perspective of both the intern and the health sector.
The goal of the Good Intern Programme is to nurture a generation of self-assured Intern Medical Officers who provide optimum care to their patients with competence, compassion and consideration.
The objective of the programme is to prepare and enpower the pre-interns with a culture of good medical practice for the internship period ahead of them by providing them with the requisit practical knowledge, skills and attitudes.
